Terms of Service

By using CommentPull you agree to these Terms. CommentPull is currently in beta — please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of CommentPull ("Service"), operated by CommentPull ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Description of Service

CommentPull is a web-based tool that allows you to extract, filter, and export comments from publicly accessible posts on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Depending on the platform, comments are collected by an optional browser extension running in your own browser (Facebook), requested from Meta's official API through our server with your permission (Instagram), or requested from the YouTube Data API by your browser using your own API key (YouTube). Our Privacy Policy explains what is and is not stored on our servers.

3. Beta Service

CommentPull is provided as a beta. It is still under development, may contain errors, may change or be discontinued at any time, and may return incomplete or inaccurate results (for example, because Facebook changes how its pages are built). Features, limits and prices may change. You use the beta at your own risk and should not rely on it for critical or time-sensitive work.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

5. Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • Use the Service to scrape, collect, or store personal data about individuals without their knowledge or consent.
  • Use extracted data to harass, target, or discriminate against individuals.
  • Violate any applicable laws, including data protection and privacy laws.
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Service.
  • Use the Service in any way that violates the terms of service of Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google (YouTube), or any other third-party platform.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its related systems.
  • Use automated means to access the Service beyond normal use of the application.

7. Meta Platform Policy Compliance

CommentPull does not use the Meta Graph API. Its browser extension reads Facebook pages you open (and Instagram support, once available, works the same way). Your use of any Meta-related features is also subject to Meta's Terms of Service and Platform Policies. You must not use Meta data for surveillance, profiling, or any purpose that violates Meta's platform terms.

8. Browser Extension

The optional CommentPull browser extension is provided "as is" for Chromium-based browsers. It reads only what Facebook already displays to your own logged-in account and does not bypass logins, privacy settings or other access controls. Automated collection of content may be restricted by Facebook's terms; you are solely responsible for making sure your use complies with them and with applicable law, including data protection laws. Facebook may change its pages at any time, which can cause the extension to return incomplete results or stop working, and we may change or suspend the extension at any time. 9. Intellectual Property

The CommentPull name, logo and hosted Service are owned by CommentPull. The source code is published at github.com/Arthurdotself/CommentPull and may be used under the license stated in that repository; that license does not give you the right to use the CommentPull name or logo, or to run a service that suggests it is ours, without our prior written consent. Except as that license permits, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service.

10. User Content

Any content you extract using the Service (comments, usernames, post data) is owned by its respective authors and platforms. CommentPull does not claim ownership of such content. You are solely responsible for how you use, store, and share any extracted content, and you must comply with all applicable laws and the terms of the originating platform.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party platforms and APIs including the YouTube Data API v3, Google sign-in and Google Analytics, GitHub sign-in, and Stripe for payments. These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CommentPull shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CommentPull and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by revising the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, through binding arbitration.
